The worst outcome possible

Nancy was murdered.

We are bereft.  While the family have lost "a spoke in their wheel", we have lost the hub of ours.

I'd so hoped that this would not be the case.
My heart is breaking for you all. Especially for those two little angels of hers. And for Nancy's mother. You all will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers as you endure these hectic days ahead and try to come to grips with the loss of such a dear and cherished friend.

May God's love keep you strong and bring comfort to your aching hearts.

I wanted to offer my heart-felt condolences to Nancy's family and friends during this unthinkable, difficult time. Their open, overwhelming love for her has touched so many others who didn't even know her, which in turn speaks volumes of her own character. I imagine she was a very special individual.

How fortunate and blessed you were for having her in your life, no matter how long. I know thats not saying much at all in the greater scope of things, but I still hope that you can one day find some small measure of solace with that.

Take Care

I have been hoping this wouldn't be the outcome since I saw a flyer at Crossroads Target Sunday morning... I held tightly to my 4-year-old's hand as I stopped to examine the photos of Nancy and wondered if she had children of her own.

My heart hurts to think of her beautiful daughters growing up without their mommy; deepest sympathies to her family through this unthinkable devastation. May you have the strength to endure, especially for Bella and Katie.

As cliche as it may be, "If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it." I will be praying for all of you.

As a mother with small children as well, we look at our babies and ask that they never be taken from us. Not in a million years did she think that her sweet girls would have her taken from them. The anger and grief I feel is overwhelming. What could it possibly feel for these girls and family. And even Nancy's mom, having to lose a daughter all too soon. Justice please show your face! I will think of the family and pray hard for those girls. I cannot print what I would really like to say, but I know everyone reading can assume correctly. This family will never be forgotten. Nancy Cooper has touched many lives. God is with the family and girls.

After seeing your story on the TODAY show, I was overcome with emotion and the understanding of what you may be going through. My sincerest condolences to your family. This is horrible tragedy which my family knows all too well. A couple of months ago, my brother, a Cranston firefighter and father of two young children hosted a birthday party for his 9 year old on a beautiful street in a suburban family neighborhood. A tennis ball the kids were playing with accidentally went into the next door neighbors yard at which point he came out of the house and murdered my brother in the driveway in front of the entire family, not to mention his own children and those of the neighborhood. My brother too was the hub of the wheel. An honorable son, father, husband, brother and friend. We are not only trying to manage the extreme pain from this senseless tragedy, but also process the act of murder combined with a potential lengthy and painful trial. This has truly been the most horrific time in our lives as I am sure is the same for your family. I felt I had to write because I felt a connection to your families situation. Please know you are in my thoughts. I pray you will find strengh and support from the obvious closeness of your family. Lisa. cranston, Rhode island

Watching this story unfold on national news the last few days, it is a deeper pain than I can express - it seems heartbreaking just doesn't reach the depth of sorry for the loss of your loved one Nancy. In watching the interviews a moment ago on the Today Show - I found it incredibly difficult to witness the sorrow in Nancy's sister Jill's eyes & her voice, her good friends as well - then hearing how thier children played together, the thought of little cousins, nieces & nephews trying to understand why thier Dear Mother & Aunt is no longer with them - this is just all too heartbreaking and I do hope that in some way those that knew & loved Nancy will find peace within and the strength to get through the upcoming days, then the investigations, plainly put - this has got to be the most tragic loss to face in our lives. One other thought, I am the mother of five daughters, now a grandmother - I am so deepy saddened to even contemplate what Nancy's Mother must be feeling right now - I believe that Moms across the Nation & around the World are grieving with you as Mothers. Its time for revival and spiritual renewal, and to realize that all life is precious. We live in a material world yet many are unhappy and are miserable. Many of us don't seem to have any spiritual focus....big houses and nice cars are just facades...I will use this event to review my priorities and spiritual outlook....and pray for the grieving familes....

As the previous poster said, re-focusing and being aware of what we have and the important things in life - is honestly what gets us through it in recent time. Once losing the "material things" our loved ones became our focus even more than before - we have always appreciated and loved our God Given Gifts of Life, neither of us taking a day for granted - the sorrow of Nancy Cooper's death strengthens our focus even more - just love your loved ones every minute of every day - there is never time to take the true treasures of life for granted.

What a devistating tragedy. My heart is breaking for your family, and especially those little girls. It is a horrible thing when a child has to loose a parent.
I have a 4 year old, and just sat holding her crying when I saw the news about Nancy.

Please know that you have my thoughts and prayers, and those of so many others who have been touched by this tragic story.

I hope God brings you strength, love and courage to get through this.

May you all have peace in your hearts, and know that the world mourns with you. Nancy is watching over your family and her little angels...

With deepest condolences,
